Still looking for ordinary summer destinations with routine itineraries? It’s time to go off the beaten path, escape the pretentious city life and head down to Lhasa, Tibet. For many travelers, Tibet is trip of a lifetime and it seems to have something for everyone - fabulous weather, breathtaking scenery, spiritual religion, overwhelming culture and truly wonderful people…… If you have no time to travel around Tibet, at least pay a visit to Lhasa (famous holy destination for affordable China tours), the capital of Tibet, which is totally different from other capitals you have visited. Go now, before it becomes touristy.

The name of Lhasa means “Holy Land” in Tibetan language and it also famous as the “City of Sunshine”. Lhasa is the spiritual center of Tibet as well as the center of Tibetan culture, economy and religious activities. Although facing intense ultraviolet radiation in the daytime, Lhasa is not hot, suitable to come throughout the year with relatively pleasant weather. Just remember to bring something like sun block cream, sunglasses, sunhat, etc. to avoid sunburn and dry weather.

Lhasa enjoys the highland temperate semi-arid monsoon climate without extremely hot summer or severely cold winter. The weather in Lhasa is mild with an average temperature of about 8℃. Summer is the peak season for visiting Lhasa when the weather is relatively mild and humid with crystal clear sky and flowers in bloom. What’s more, it is the time to experience the famous Tibet Shoton Festival and Buddha Exhibition. Annual rainfall mainly falls from the June to September. So, if you are planning a summer vacation in Lhasa, please remember to take your rain gear. The rain will not influence too much as it usually rains at night.

With rich cultural and historical legacy, Lhasa has many places of interest and tourist attractions for top 10 China tour packages both in Lhasa urban areas and outskirts. Among the highlights are the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Norbulingka, Barkhor Street, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, Gandan Monastery, Naga Temple, and Ramoche Temple, Namtso Lake and Yangbajain Hot Spring.
